FALSE HEADS: ‘FALL AROUND’ SINGLE REVIEW

Since their inception in 2016, False Heads have firmly established themselves in the indie-punk scene with fans like Iggy Pop, Danny Fields and Rodney Bingenhiemer. Early in their career, they’ve already supported The Libertines and Queens of the Stone Age and worked with music legend Gary Powell. Luke, Barney, and Jake have also signed with Lovers Music, played at Camden Rocks and The Great Escape, and are now gearing up for a huge 2020. Is this the beginning of a new era of False Heads?

\\ IT'S WRITTEN DOWN SO IT MUST BE TRUE

\\ IT'S WRITTEN DOWN SO IT MUST BE TRUE

False Heads are known for their chaotic, angry energy. Their early tracks feel like being punched in the face by a guy outside a pub in a grimy street in London on a Saturday night.

No other band performs live like False Heads. Seeing them live is being thrown into the ring with a professional boxer. The heaving energy, shouting, and sweating passion from everyone on stage hit the audience from song one. False Heads is a band you have to see on stage.

\\ HE CAN PICK WHO IS BORN WELL AND WHO IS BORN SICK

Fall Around is the lead single from their soon-to-be-released first album. We've been lucky enough to interview False Heads several times, and every meeting featured talk of their album. Four years in the making, it promises to be a huge experience.

The trio released their new single at midnight. Like some kind of supernatural creature, midnight marked a transformation in them as a musical body. The new production quality is instantly noticeable on the new track. The whole sound has a polished and expensive feel to it, punctuated by a thudding war-beat drum throughout. The thicker guitar and drum let Luke's characteristic accent cut through the noise subtler than their early EPs where vocals are mixed forward. The False Heads sound is undeniable in Fall Around nonetheless.

The heavy melodic guitar, stomach-thudding drums, and snarky social commentary make up the backbone of the band, but on this track they've matured. There is a measured quality to this song. Where anger punched through their past releases, this track shows a sureness of their lyrics and sound. Where they once tried to figure out the shitty world around them and perform their frustration, now they deliberate more profound questions with conviction and confidence.

YOURE DREAMING

Luke has been vocal in the past about his political and social views. We hope the long-awaited first album lets you eavesdrop on that constant conversation between False Heads and the world around them.
